We can figure 8.7M is 52% of what number? That is a whopping 16.7 million species on earth in 1970. 40 years times 365.25 days per year is 14,610 days, that is just over 1145 species died out per day on a linear average. Given the purported growth of CO2 and alarmist global warming, obviously the death rate would have started out slow and ramped up.
